Spain Visa Appointment from UAE

You live in the UAE and you want to visit Spain. You need a Spain Visa Appointment from UAE first.

This Bolo Asan guide explains each step in plain words. Bolo Asan checked the official BLS pages on 5 November 2026.

Spain sits in the Schengen area. This area is a group of European states with one short stay visa.

You do not apply at the Embassy of Spain. BLS International runs the visa centres in the UAE. The Embassy of Spain in Abu Dhabi decides each visa.

Quick Answer: Book a Spain Visa Appointment from UAE on the official BLS site. The booking costs nothing. You attend in person in Dubai or Abu Dhabi.

Who Needs an Appointment

You need an appointment if your passport needs a Spain visa. Most expat residents in the UAE need one. The visa depends on your passport, not on your UAE residence visa.

Spouses of EU citizens must also book a slot now. BLS no longer takes them without one. EU means the European Union.

Note: UAE citizens do not need a visa for a short stay. They can stay up to 90 days in any 180 day period.

Long stays need a different visa. Study, work, and family visas follow other rules. This guide covers the appointment for short stay visas.

Where You Book

Spain uses BLS International in the UAE. Spain does not use VFS Global here. Do not look for Spain slots on the VFS site.

You book only on the official BLS site. The site address is uae.blsspainvisa.com. Use the Book Appointment link on that site.

Important: BLS started a new booking system in July 2026. You must book your own slot. The system checks that you book it yourself.

Bookings by agents or other people do not count. BLS will not accept them at the centre. Book with your own name and your own passport number.

Before You Book

Pick your travel dates before you book. You can apply up to 180 days before your trip. Check your passport first. It needs at least 3 months left after your visa ends.

Pick the right visa type for your trip. Tourist, business, study, and family visas differ. Each type has its own checklist on the BLS site.
